This series is dedicated to a friend who guided me through the dense Chocó jungle in search of birds and frogs. Margarito was a resident of Arusi, passionate about nature, and an unparalleled ornithologist. He collaborated with many scientists on conservation projects in the jungles surrounding Arusi. From there, his passion for birds was born, which motivated him to study in Medellín and become the foremost bird expert in his community.

Her dream was to form a team of committed guides specialized in bird and animal watching, attracting a different kind of tourism and generating new opportunities for the region's inhabitants. However, that dream was shattered by the violence of the armed conflict and drug trafficking in our country.
